Information Technology & Cybersecurity
Ensuring data confidentiality, integrity and availability.
–– I received the “101” into Information Technology in the late 90’s with the United States Marine Corps. I was an Ammunitions Technician for 1st Tank Battalion, Bravo Company where I worked in every facet of the ammunition field including the ordering, receipt, storage, issue, handling, placarding, transportation, security and secure documenting of ammunition and toxic chemicals. When I wasn’t out in the field, I served as the Information Security NCO for all of the Marines in Company B and its respective Platoons where security of private information was paramount.
After leaving the Marine Corps in 2000, I got a job with a mid-sized Internet Service Provider called NetHere, where I would troubleshoot connection issues, ensure email deliverability, help eradicate viruses, patch systems, help deploy wireless T-1 access for condo communities and fix back-end issues for our web hosting clients. I provided technical support for DSL, wireless T-1, web clients and dial-up access for all major operating systems, along with most e-mail clients, troubleshooting customers from a host of ISP’s under NetHere, including Znet, Simply Internet and Ricochet Wireless.
NetHere eventually went out of business, so I started working for U.S. Capital Corporation and Marquee Corporation, handling all of their IT infrastructure for our San Diego & Los Angeles offices, as well as the Beijing and Hong Kong offices. I created and maintained a conduit the for the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data between the U.S. and China.
In 2020, I attended UCSD for Cybersecurity, attaining proficiency in IT, networking, and modern information security.
